Avoiding Tragedies
Posted on July 28, 2012 | No CommentsBecause the only protection against a bear market is to be in cash on the sidelines or actually invested in bear market funds. And don’t let any of these index proponents tell you any different—when the markets head south, index funds with will join the crowd. -
Forecasting the Market
Posted on July 9, 2012 | No CommentsDon't believe anything anyone tells you about the market, not even me. 25 Signs That Show You Know How to Handle Money
Posted on December 16, 2010 | 2 CommentsThe ability to master your money is not something that just happens. It takes time, training, and temperament. Whatever praise or criticism you may direct at the American public school system, one thing must be acknowledged: The handling of personal financial affairs is not a subject to which much attention is devoted. Whatever the average citizen knows about saving and investing did not come from the classroom. -
The Mutual Fund – A Critical View
Posted on September 29, 2010 | No CommentsIs the investor really well served by a fund that merely places its monies in proportion to a specifically designed index or another that simply acquires shares of other funds? What does the scandal that rocked many of the prominent mutual funds in the autumn of 2003 portend for the future of the industry? And above all, who in God’s name is watching the store?
